Commercial Corridor Improvement Program (CCIP)

As part of its mission to eliminate blighting conditions in the City of North Miami and to promote economic development, the CRA is committed to improving the general condition of the City's main commercial corridors within the CRA Boundaries - NE 125th Street, West Dixie Highway, and NW 7th Avenue (US 441).

Clean Team
The North Miami CRA now has its own dedicated "Clean Team", involved in pressure cleaning sidewalks, sweeping trash off streets, installing and emptying trash receptacles, mowing grass around Pioneer Gardens, and installing bollards at the new MOCA Plaza. [View a Slide Show]
Talking Trash
Litter along the streets and sidewalks give a negative impression and can greatly affect the economic development of an area. In North Miami matters were made worse by unsightly garbage cans with cracked lids and an old design. The CRA has purchased 53 modern, colorful trash cans and installed throughout downtown. The CRA is also working on public outreach and signage to reduce the incidence of littering.

De-Constructing Downtown
In the CRA's 2006-2007 Budget, funding is in place for a Master Plan for Downtown North Miami and NW 7th Avenue. Meanwhile, the CRA is taking steps to improve the overall appearance of downtown. One example is the removal of bulky concrete street furniture that did nothing more than clutter the sidewalks.
