Career and Business Resource Fair

September 21st, 2010

On Tuesday, September 21st, the North Miami Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in
partnership with Dynamic Community Development Corporation held the 3rd
Annual “North Miami Career and Business Resource Fair” at the Gwen Margolis
Community Center. Over 200 people attended the event seeking small business
advice and job opportunities. Mayor Andre D. Pierre, Esq. gave the opening
remarks welcoming the various companies present and the participants seeking
job opportunities. Council members Michael R. Blynn (District 2) and Marie
Erlande Sterill (District 4) attended to demonstrate their support. Mr. Tony E.
Crapp Sr., Executive Director, NMCRA gave the presentation on the services
available through the CRA. Ms. Ruby Crenshaw-Johnson, Purchasing Director,
North Miami, spoke about doing business with the city. Also making a
presentation were: Martine Theodore, Development Dir., Haitian Women of Miami
(Empower one business at a time) and Cornell Crews, Program Director, Partners
for Self Employment (Entrepreneurial Training and Loans). Creating opportunities
by supporting small business was our goal for this event.
