The CRA Puts it's First Family in a Home!
In April of 2007, Eliud and Rose Guerrier registered for an opportunity to receive a First Time Home Buyer assistance subsidy loan from the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA) to fulfill their dream of owning their own home. On July 8, 2008 that dream was finally realized when the family closed on the purchase of their first home at the White House Condominium in North Miami, after a long and tedious process of screening and assessment, credit counseling, home buyer education and training and a mortgage pre qualifying process. The closing was done at the NMCRA office. A formal acknowledgment, broadcasted on a televised government access station, followed at North Miami City Hall Council Chambers.

The Guerrier family purchased a two-bedroom, two-bath condominium for $180,000 and received a total of $ 60,000 ( $50K from the NMCRA and $10,000 from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB)) as down payment assistance. The developer, Burstyn Properties also contributed $3,000 + toward closing costs and the 1st mortgage was financed by Gibraltar Private Bank.
The Guerrier's are very happy since this closing came at time when the couple and their two daughters are about to welcome the latest addition to their family - another baby.
